Lip liner has been the surprise
trend of 2014. Thanks to Kylie Jenner's faux-full lips, the retro
beauty trend is well and truly back, but liner doesn’t have to be obvious and
some colours, especially dark ones are far better paired with a neat line.
Cue Rebel, my winter lipstick of
choice. The vivid pinkish-purple is my perfect not-too-dark dark lip. But since
it’s dark and so pigmented it’s quite tricky to apply straight from the bullet.
It really helps to line and define the lips first. I’ve seen online a lot of
people team it with MAC’s Vino lip liner, but honestly I didn’t fancy spending
£13 on a lip liner so I popped to Boots and picked up a £1.99 dupe!
Natural Collection Lip Lines in Mulberry is a wonderful red wine colour – dark plum with a hint of pink. Not
quite as purple as Rebel, but close enough! It applies easily with no drag and
to my surprise, is not at all drying. It’s ideal for lining the lips, or for
even longer lasting lipstick, colour the entire lip before applying your
colour. Helps to ensure you stay in the lines, reduced bleed, intensifies the
lipstick colour and if you want to exaggerate your pout, you can.

ReplyDeleteIt goes so well! I might have a look around boots as my Mac Cherry one managed to lose it's way out of my possession at St James' park the other week. Katie x
