Saturday night makeup – Gold Bronzey Eyes and Nude Lips

This look was all about the eyes! I took some inspiration from a picture in the H&M magazine. Rather than my usual grey/black smokey eye I created one that was more golden with strong eye liner.  Here’s how...
For the eyes:
Step 1 – Primer of course. Really important if you want to eye to last all night and prevent the greasy creases. I used Urban Decay Potion but any will do.
Step 2 – A wash of MAC soba all over the lids with my trusted MAC 217 brush, up to and a little past the crease. It’s a warm shade with a light golden shimmer so provides the ideal base for a golden/bronzey eye. Full review here.
Step 3 – Time to bring out the Naked palette. Using a smaller shadow brush I applied smog to the outer half of the lids to add some definition and depth. Followed by a dab of half baked to the centre of the lid. It’s a shimmer gold that catches the light and really brightens the eye.
Step 4 – Time to line. I lined the eyes, top and bottom, with Bourjois brun pencil before smudging and blending out. Then I tight lined the inner and outer lids and water lines with Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion. This pencil is brilliant. Glides on creamy and doesn't budge.

Step 5 – Mascara of course. Benefit They’re Real and lashings of it.

The base:
After I wiped away the fall out from the smokey eye (with bioderma and a cotton pad) I used Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation NC30. I covered my eye bags with MAC Prep & Prime Highlighter in Light boost and dabbed a little bit of MAC Blot Powder around the T zone. I swept my trusted Guerlain Four Seasons Bronzing powder around the forehead, temples and cheek bones, dabbed a little Benefit Sun Beam on the high points of my cheek bones and finished the look with a pop of cream blush in the form of Stila Camellia. I wanted to keep the base fairly bronzy and neutral.
Lips:
I lined and filled in my lips with MAC lip liner in nude followed by Freckletone lipstick. The liner helps the lipstick stay on longer and Freckletone is a great nude that doesn't look like concealer... (porno lips are out!) full review here.
A spritz of MAC Fix+ to finish and voile – Saturday night make up at your service!
