Fragrance Direct, I’ve got big love for you (read about my top picks here). It’s not the easiest site to navigate and there is a lot of junk but it’s cheap, reliable and when you find a gem, it’s oh so rewarding. This week I found 3...
Essie Maximillian Strasse is a pale, muted sage green/grey with a gorgeous crème finish. It’s a lovely pastel shade (I love me a pastel) and unlike any other polish in my collection.
Essie Avenue Maintain is described as a Parisian Light Blue with a crème finish. It’s a true blue and ultra chic!
Both polishes are from the Spring 2013 collection Madison Ave-Hue. I did a quick swatch to test them out. The formula is thicker than I'm used to from Essie, and very opaque – definitely just a two coater here. The trademark wide flat brush quickly covered the nail bed and it dried to a gorgeous crème finish. There’s a good selection of Essie polishes for £1.99 here including Bikini So Teeny, one of my all time faves (review here) which I paid £9.95 for from Liberty!
I also picked up this very cute Sally Hansen Cuticle Eraser + Balm £1.49 here. Pushing back the cuticles is a constant battle for me. I use OPI Avoplex Oil to keep them soft but if I don’t use it every day, which I don’t, they soon dry and build up. This stuff really seems to work. The eraser cuts through the cuticle and the balm keeps them soft. Dab it on, push them back and be amazed.
