Beauty Buzz... L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Range

Lumi Magique is the new beauty range from cosmetic giant L'Oreal that’s making some serious waves in the industry. Threatening to knock YSL’s touch éclat of its pedestal with its liquid light technology, the range consists of a primer, foundation and concealer and promises to illuminate your complexion as if lit-from-within!

L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer £9.99 20ml
The Lumi Magique Primer is a unique liquid light formula that blends seamlessly into skin to boost its liveliness and luminosity. The liquid is gorgeous and glowy and very luminescent and for those reasons I think it’s less of an all over base and more of a highlighter. It reminds me of MAC’s Strobe Liquid. The pure light primer can be used alone for a supple, dewy look, or mix with your foundation for an all over radiant finish or dab onto key areas as a highlighter. For best results I find apply under foundation in a figure of '3', from forehead, to the nose, to the chin is the best way to highlight your bone structure. It really does illuminate your complexion, especially under artificial light.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation £10.99 30 ml
A dollop of foundation over the Lumi Primer
The Lumi Magique foundation is a Light Infusing liquid which gives luminosity to the skin to provide a perfect coverage without masking. I’ve tried it a couple of times, but I think you need to road test it for longer than that to fully assess it, but early indications are good. It’s very light weight yet does give a good coverage. Yes it gives a GLOW but I wouldn’t say an all over dewy finish as it does “set” a little. Of course it works very well with the Lumi Magique Primer but it holds its own, on its own. The only downside I can find is the limited range of shades, there’s currently only 6! This shade (W5 Gold Sand) is a little darker than my current winter induced pasty complexion, but I think it will be perfect for the summer months.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer £8.49
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer helps brighten the appearance of eyes, cover any imperfections and highlight cheekbones, brow bones and the cupid's bow. Now I haven’t got my mitts on this just yet but comparisons are already being drawn with YSL touch éclat! Umm, tough, probably impossible boots to fill, still, I can’t wait to try it. Many under eye pens tend to be a little thick and cakey, with the emphasis on light I’m hoping this one will be more of a highLIGHTER than a concealer. Oh and I think they've got the packaging SPOT-ON! Doesn't it look expensive! Available in three shades light, medium and dark.

  1. Aw this looks like such an extremely interesting range ! xx

  2. OOOOO I want to try it Nowwwww haha :)
    Foundation looks a gorgeous finish!

    Http:// xx

  3. I agree! It does look great. We didn't get foundation in the states though=(

  4. L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream was in my local superdrug today..i swatched it on my hand and it looks nice, better than the garnier bb cream, i think it would be better suited to oiler skins. I also swatched the Magique Primer and its really nice...x

  5. The primer is lovely, I'm really impressed with the whole range. I think you're right about the Nude Magique BB Cream being better suited to oilier skins, but I have dry skin and I'm loving it too. x

  6. Ladies! I popped into Boots on Friday after reading this post .. this line just looked perfect for the dewy/luminous Spring Summer look I was after. After using it for the past couple of days I have really enjoyed it. Its a medium/light coverage .. the primer is wonderful and can be used as an additional highlighter .. the concealer works wonderfully with the line... but it stands up on its own as well.. Really great products at a very fair price.. 8/10

  7. I've tried to use the primer with other foundations and it caused my foundation to oxidize and break down SO FAST. I'm going to have to buy the Magic Lumi foundation and see if it works better in conjunction with that. It looks lovely when I first apply it, but doesn't last long.

  8. Oh wow, so the primer sounds more interesting than the foundation. Do you recommend it? I use the Bourjois Healthy Mix and that's my Holy Grail! Wondering if I can find something even better! xx

  9. I have yet to try the foundation and the concealer, but I'm currently loving the primer! I feel like it's a dupe of the Laura Mercir foundation primers. The only thing I'm not loving is the smell. xo

Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. I read all of them and reply to any questions x
