It's a little indulgent sharing this one now since MAC have discontinued Blushcreme - shame on you MAC! But Ladyblush remains one of my all time favourite products.
Perfect cream blush, how I coverted thee. Usually finding previous incarnations too pale, too bright, too thin, too gluepy, difficult to apply… Finally I found my perfect match with the fabulous Blushcreme.
Luxuriously soft and extremely creamy, this cream blush tenderly flushes the cheeks or brings them into full-blown rosy bloom. Available in 6 colours, it blends well and layers exquisitely. I’ve been using Ladyblush, a cool pink, which gives my face a fresh, dewy, slightly shiny look; whenever I wear it people comment that I look fresh and radiant. So much so, my friends and colleagues have switched from regular powder blush to this one and my Mum, who didn’t wear any blush has converted too.
It’s quite easy to apply, it’s a little thick so to avoid the drag, simply pat on with fingers then blend with a brush – this and Mac’s 187 Duo Fibre brush are a match made in heaven, but foundation and regular blusher brushes work fine too.
If you’re pushed for time simply pat on the cheeks and go. It's also really good on the lips...
Needless to say I was devastated with MAC’s decision to dicontinue these blushers. I hoped the cosmetic giant would come back with something bigger and better…. but their Cremeblend blushers didn't hit the spot.
Clearly I stockpiled, but they'll not last forever. I've searched high and low for something similar, the closest I've found is Stila's convertible colour. Anyone got any suggestions?

ReplyDeleteBobbi Btown's cream blush/lip product is wonderful. They just re-releasesd it with a much cheaper packaging, but the product is the same. She also has seasonal colors sometimes that add some variety to the selection. Right now many of the colors are bright coraly and peachy, in line with her Miami summer look, and the colors that seem to be popular this season. But there are some neutrals in there. I have red hair and very fair skin, so I need neutrals and brown based colors. Brown's line used to be great for that, but as always, now that they are an Estee Lauder subsidiary, the colors are more mainstream and change frequently, both with many seasonal offerings, and products being discontinued and favorite colors meeting the same fate. So check them out now as they are being pushed this season, they may be gone the next!
ReplyDeleteYou can buy this on the UK site...
ReplyDeleteYou can buy cremeblend, not cremeblush

Hi Claire!
ReplyDeleteLoving the blog!
How do you find this type of blush lasts? I have this by Mac and I also loved the dewy look it gave but found it didn't last and I had to re-apply! Does the brush help with that? Are there any other tips you would recommend to make it longer lasting?
Lucy x
Hello Lucy
DeleteGood question! It can help to apply it in layers, so apply some with your fingers or brush, leave it a few moment then add some more. Also you can set it with some powder. It seems odd applying powder on top of blush, but a light sweeping all over the face should help. I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder or their blot powder. You can also try a fixing spray like MAC Fix+. I can't say it will make it last longer but it will definitely give you a dewier finish x

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, this picture was taken two years ago. I usually wear MAC foundation. Mineralize Satin Finish and Mineralize Moisture Foundation are my favourites x
