My new go-to Mascara for party lashes... BLINK + Go Hi-Definition Mascara

I love it when a Glossybox product turns out to be an absolute gem, can't live without, future favourite. BLINK + Go Hi-Definition Mascara is one of them. I was thrilled to see the full size mascara included in December's Glossybox and couldn't wait to try it.

It's a great mascara and one I'd be highly unlikely to buy if I hadn't had the chance to try it first, well done Glossybox, job done.

Now back to the mascara in quesiton. It's a full-on false effect, va va voom mascara with dramatic results. It's super black! It coats the lashes very generously, the only con is that it's a bit messy. I had to scrape some of the formula off the wand before application because the tube left too much on.

Other than that it's fabulous!

As you can see from the pics it's got that false lash effect. The formula is buildable, but dries quite quickly and the best part, no smudging. I've worn it all day without the slightest speck. I didn't wear it on the bottom lashes, but for an evening I would.

I'd buy this mascara again that's for sure. Retails for £14.99, find out more here.

Let me know if you received BLINK + Go Hi-Definition Mascara in this months' box, what'd you think of it?

Kardashian Kolors hit the UK

Is this the most anticipated nail launch of the year? Love them, hate them, there’s no escaping the Kardashians!
Next in their quest for World domination the Kardashian sisters are following in the footsteps of, er Shrek and Justin Beiber by launching their own nail polish range for nail giant OPI, well their little sister Nicole by OPI.

Kardashian Kolors from Nicole by OPI is a collection of glam-fabulous shades...
Picture taken from Walmart US

Launched in the US last month, they’re now available in the UK from Lena White and ASOS £8.00. I love the selection of shades, especially the glittery ones. Fancy trying Kendall on the Katwalk and Follow me on Glitter.

Proof positive that the Kardashian sisters really do have it nailed!

OPI Nails...Sparrow me the Drama

I know it’s winter and I’m supposed to be channelling winter nails – think crimsons, metallics and black, BUT don’t you find dark colours make pale hands look even paler? I’m not saying that when  the Christmas parties come around I’ll not be rocking Revlon’s Facets of Fushia, or OPI’s My Private Jet (if Santa brings me it), but for something softer and more flattering I’m still loving the pastels.

Here we have another OPI gem, Sparrow me the Drama. Part of the Pirates of the Caribbean range, I’ve had this a couple of months but such is the state of my nails I’m not getting to sample polishes as quickly as I’d like to. I love, LOVE the colour. It's name is a little misleading - there's nothing dramatic here! It’s a chic pastel, mauve-y, pink. Cool, yet understated. It has a crème finish with a little sheen. If it was a lipstick, it would be MAC’s Creme Cup.

As ever with OPI, the formula is top quality. I did need three coats instead of the usual two, but it lasted nearly a full week and because the shade isn't too bright, a little chipping doesn't really show up. I think it's a universally flattering colour, another great addition to my ever increasing collection.

Buy OPI online in the UK from Look Fantastic and ASOS.

Chic Bedroom Accessories

I'm a sucker for a nice pot! I'm forever buying pots, candle holders, glasses, vases... anything I can store make up and more importantly make up BRUSHES in. I get bored easily - changing my dressing table more often than I change my....

My latest purchase is this beautiful white tin pot with perforated hearts from BHS. Available in two sizes, this one cost £10. It’s a generous size and super versatile. I’ve filled it with brushes... for now at least, but would be great for jewellery, bobbles, blushers or any other bits and bobs.

Whilst I’m at it I thought I’d share some of the latest editions to my bedroom accessories.
I’ve been having difficulty applying  make up on these drab, dark mornings so I wanted a nice, yet small lamp to sit on my dressing table area... not an easy task I found. I tried TK Maxx, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams and BHS, finally finding this one in Next, £25. It’s hardly the brightest, but it is the cutest. I think it has a real vintage, shabby chic appeal.

I also picked up this white lantern from ikea, only cost around £2. I call it my “wee willy winky candle”. Looks great in the dark leaving star impressions on the wall.

My final newbie is a gorgeous scented candle from Project D. I love candles, even more than pots and my room stinks of them, bloomin lovely of course! I don’t think these little gems can be bought separately, I got mine with a purchase of Project D clothing at Van Mildert.

Sniffing out a bargain!

In times of austerity it’s increasingly necessary to be more savvy with our “luxuries”. Now I can’t advocate cutting back, I’VE TRIED and failed! Instead I’ve learnt to sniff out a good bargain or two, and branch out to brands and shops I’ve never tried before.
Did you know that shops like Poundland sell make up brands including Rimmel, L’oreal and Revlon for, well, a POUND! In the past I’ve picked up a Rimmel mascara and a L’oreal concealer. Stock varies and they do tend to have the last popular shades, but if you’re prepared to rummage, there’s gems to be had.
It’s not restricted to the Poundland either, I found these beauties in a shop called Discount UK. You can spot them by the packaging, normally on display in purple pouches.

I picked up...
Rimmel Multi-Tonal Blush in Summer Fever £5.19 at Boots. Three gorgeous blush shades for just £1.

Rimmel Colour Rush Quad in Modern Glam.

What a find this was, currently selling at Boots for £6.63, again just £1 at Discount UK. It’s the perfect everyday eye palette with soft, silky and lightweight shadows.

Forgive the unruly brows, I’m still in the growing out stage. Read my post about bringing back the brows.

Two NYC nail polishes, which retail for £2.59 each, just £1 for the pair. There were tons of shades to choose from, I picked up very wearable cerise pink and purple.

Individually these items would have cost £17 at regular high street stores. Guilt free shopping, I love it!
